Last call for Celine Classic Box Bag

This may be a premature statement but I truly believe that Celine classic box bag is the most beautifully designed bag ever made and definitely the most gorgeous looking bag I’ve ever owned. When I look through this year’s photos and videos I can tell with confidence that this is my most versatile bag, the one I reach for most of the time and the one that elevates any outfit and at the same time is so understated and easy to style.

And it looks like Celine is going to retire this bag for good.

I can’t say for certain but when I emailed Celine the other day about why the didn’t have this bag listed on their website this is what they replied:

“Kindly note any items not listed on the site would not be available for sale at this time.”

With the red cherry trend going strong I started thinking about getting this bag in Rouge or Burgundy color and the only place I could find them was 24S. I also went ahead and emailed Celine if 24S is their authorized retailer and this is what they replied:

“Dear Mrs HOLOVANOVA,

Thank you for contacting CELINE.

Kindly note any items not listed on the site would not be available for sale at this time.
However 24s is an authorized retailer at this time. So if you see the item listed feel free to purchase.

From here on it’s pure guesswork and rumors but the way I see it it all started after Phoebe Philo left the company and they redesigned the logo on the bag as well as a few other smallest details. Some leathers were discontinued but we remained optimistic because they never mentioned they’d be actually discontinuing it. Now that Phoebe Philo has her own brand (and again, I don’t know if this is connected or not) it looks like this is actually happening.

That means that this bag will become “a vintage bag”, and as it becomes more scarce the price will increase. My point is that if you’ve ever felt compelled to purchase this bag the time is now.

Rouge, black & camel have always been the most popular colors and hence have already gone up in price at some of the retailers.

You can save a little bit if you buy it from second hand luxury retailers such as Real Real or if you get it in burgundy, or amazone colors. They are still absolutely gorgeous, just less coveted.
