Where to Shop if You Lost Faith in Everlane

The news didn’t come as a blow to me. I had purchased many pieces from Everlane over the years but only ever kept a few of them. The brand has never been my go-to store to begin with but whenever I was looking for a dress, a shirt or a jacket that would define normcore, be a good base for several outfits & of course was made of natural materials - I’d definitely look for it at Everlane. To be entirely honest the full transparency of the price & where the fabrics were sourced from have never been the decisive factor to me when I chose Everlane over other brands even though those things have been the core of the brand identity. Now that Shein acquired Everlane - are we to expect things to change for us, consumers? I believe we’ll see very soon, in the meantime here’s where you could shop if you feel sad, betrayed & annoyed about this news.

Everlane
Yes indeed. If you’ve been eyeing something particular on their website for quite some time this is the time to act - you’ll most likely get those last pieces from the good old batches. Not to mention the factor of the unbeatable price for what you usually get from the brand. To name just a few here are my top favorites by Everlane:

BUCK MASON
I think I discovered Buck Mason around 2023 and my closet, or should I say my capsule wardrobe has been slowly transforming into a Buck Mason catalogue. It’s definitely more expensive than Everlane & they never ever go on sale (I’ve noticed that overall being a good marker), they love their small bi-weekly drops instead of seasonal collections, their selection is mostly focused on menswear but they are gradually expanding their women’s line. There were quite a few things that didn’t work for me but they offer an exceptionally generous 365 day return window & many of their stores offer repairs and alterations. Customer support is simply wonderful and every single piece I’ve ever kept has been nothing short of excellent in quality and design. The wool for their blazers is often sourced from iconic Irish mills, t-shirts are made in the US whereas silk & leather accessories are made in Italy. Linking my favorite pieces here for you.

I know, I know, there’s a lot of controversy about this H&M owned brand too but they’re very transparent about where they source their fabrics from as well as what factories they use for production. I love their oversized poplin shirts, thick knit cashmere sweaters, raffia bags, dresses, 100% wool coats & cotton pants. They have a very clean, minimalist, Scandinavian inspired style but since they’ve been actively participating in fashion weeks you could also find unique high quality resort & event pieces as well.
