Finally: the kind of Monday that We deserve

This Monday: creating content for JLo Beauty, soaking up vitamin D & coffee, coffee, coffee.

What if we were to make Monday work for us instead of the other way around? It’s not just Monday, really. I’ve been thinking about changing my own POV on many things.

I can’t take all the credit for that, I most definitely have been inspired by a book that my friend Stephanie Scott suggested in her Art book club. I started reading The Artist's Way by Julia Cameron just a few days ago and even though I’m not doing it properly (it’s suggesting jotting down a few pages of brain dump every morning which I simply pretend to forget to do) I feel like it’s affecting me in an amazing way. What is it with us that makes us seek permission from the higher authority? Why can’t we authorize ourselves to do whatever it is we choose to?

JLO Beauty reached out to me to create some content for their brand and I was absolutely thrilled about it and from the very beginning I couldn’t wait to start working on the project. The other thing is: I didn’t expect to procrastinate on this project for so long. I didn’t know how to approach it. As a professional photographer-turned-lifestyle-blogger the photographer in me is still looking for my client’s guidance and opinion. As a content creator I want to do things my way. This internal dialogue that I’ve been having lately is often causing the indecisiveness that brings the procrastination that is so difficult to overcome. I often have to work throughout the weekend so Monday is often my day off. This morning I woke up and I simply felt that I actually wanted to do this. Day off or not. Turn my Monday into a classic Monday but also do something that I actually like.

I love how these photos turned out. I loved the products. I loved this Monday.

If I can let myself be free so can my hair.

I’ve been really enjoying air drying my hair lately. I have dry, wavy and damaged hair and it’s always been challenging to keep it under control. My hair stylist and a couple of hair gurus on Instagram recommended me a few products that really helped me to style my hair with a heatless method.

Check out my favorite hair products for heatless air drying here.

Styling, shopping & product research is part of my lifestyle. I may receive commissions on purchases made from my chosen links. That keeps me motivated and helps me to create more content & share more of my finds with you! Thanks for your attention!
