Happy 2024!

I took a turn in my photography journey exactly one year ago and even though it’s been a bumpy road I think I am happy that I made this choice. Also my home is happy. For the first time in years it feels like home, it looks beautiful every day. It looks like I live in it - all thanks to the discipline I had to develop about keeping things in a certain way and order because I am creating content here almost every day. The only thing that remains messy is my photo studio and that is something that I really want to fix in 2024. Nobody’s perfect.

I feel grateful that I was raised to celebrate Christmas after the New Year and so we basically do it twice, the pleasant side effect of that is receiving more gifts and also keeping our Holiday decorations up until the second week of January. I love Winter festivities: the twinkling lights, the smell of conifers, the snow, the feeling of new hope you get on NYE. I love wearing my coats and warm scarves. I love hot tea and hot chocolate and that feeling you get on your face when you come into a warm home after a day outside. I love the fog over the lake and the moody skies. Staying under the blankets. Lighting up the candles at 4 pm. Making mulled wine and watching the dogs play in the snow. Here’s to 2 more month’s of this beautiful season and to bringing all of that love and joy into 2024.
