It’s so nice to get some snow on December 1st, I think it makes the Winter official. I must confess I like Winter - for so many reasons! The dogs absolutely love it, the town looks all dressed up and - well, I think it’s a reason to dress up too.

I have one rule: I’m not going to sacrifice comfort for style. For years I’ve been on the mission of finding the perfect winter boots and I think I’ve finally succeeded.

The price tag is pretty hefty but if you live in an area where it snows often it’s a great longterm investment. Before these boots I owned a pair of Sorels which were actually pretty great too until February when they finally started to show age. I would say if you’re looking for a great properly warm and waterproof pair of winter boots you won’t find anything better than Joan Of Arctic by Sorel or another staple like Caribou. However, if you’re willing to splurge and get the “one and done” boots I’d get a pair of these. Canada Goose never ever has a sale on their website but if you’re patient enough some of the retailers sometimes drops about 25% on these boots, usually off season. This is how I got these (in mid August) and you can only imagine how excited I was to finally take them for a walk this morning!

You can also order them here at Saks, they have a very generous extended return policy throughout the Holiday season.

I’ve always had a problem with my older snow boots before: the snow would get inside while I was walking even when I was wearing snow pants. I love that these boots have a zipper + laces. Since Canada Goose is famous for their down products naturally they put an effort of making their shoes super warm too, they are officially rated to be used at very low temps down to - 4 F (- 20 C). I myself haven’t tested them like that yet but it was 26 F (- 4 C) outside and a little humid too and I felt very nice and toasty throughout our dog walk!

Here’s one of the ways you can style your snow boots: this look is linked at my LTK closet. By the way, this teddy cape from the photo down below is on sale right now here. Happy shopping !
